Template document. This policy is provided as a clear, NDPR-aware starting point. It is not legal advice and is pending review by Mentis' legal counsel before it becomes binding.

1. About these terms

By creating an account or using Mentis, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Mentis is — and isn't

Mentis provides mental-health education and connects you with independent, licensed mental-health professionals. Mentis itself does not provide clinical diagnosis or treatment.

Mentis is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian where permitted by law, to use Mentis. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account details secure.

4. Your account

  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly of any misuse.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or put others at risk.

5. Courses and content

Educational content on Mentis is for general information and self-help. It is not a substitute for professional advice tailored to your situation. Course materials are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

6. Providers and sessions

  • Providers are independent professionals responsible for their own clinical practice and conduct.
  • We verify provider credentials before approval, but you are responsible for deciding who is right for you.
  • Bookings, cancellations and rescheduling are subject to the terms shown at the time of booking.

7. Payments and refunds

Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira unless stated otherwise. Payments are handled by our payment provider. Refunds, where applicable, follow the policy presented at purchase and any rights you have under Nigerian consumer law.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • misuse the service or attempt to disrupt or access it unlawfully;
  • harass, abuse or harm providers or other users;
  • post unlawful, false or harmful content;
  • use the service to provide professional advice without authorisation.

9. Intellectual property

The Mentis name, logo, and platform are owned by Mentis. You may not use them without our written permission. Content you submit remains yours, but you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mentis is not liable for the clinical decisions of independent providers, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the latest version will always be posted here. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
